The HelloClan server in Battlefield Vietnam, also known as -[HELLO]-Bfv | Allmaps - started up the summer of 2008, then known as -[HELLO]-Flaming Dart 24/7. We had several servers before that, back in 2007 we ran two v1.2 servers called -[HELLO]-Mission Possible & -[HELLO]-Combat Zone, the latter one being more of a SSM & CSM Sandbox for members - inspired by another server called axeman. -[HELLO]-Bfv | Allmaps got through several names, -[HELLO]-Paradise City, -[HELLO]-Flaming Dart 24/7, -[HELLO]-Clan Server & several more.
Today, -[HELLO]-Bfv | Allmaps is the largest server in bfv. Which means it has the most players flowing through it per day. The main ideal is to provide players with all of the Maps BFV has to offer with no exceptions, and then a completely "custom rules" free environment to play in. We have however decided to put rules on the players that decide to interact using the chat, which basically forbids racism, insulting and more generally disrupting the friendly environment we strive for.
This is probably our main rule on -[HELLO]-Bfv | Allmaps, and is not to be interpreted wrongly. While cussing, swearing, having controversial discussions and using controversial nicknames is allowed to a certain point, the line is crossed when someone is offended. So, what is offensive? This is one of the biggest issues we have in the community perception of ban reports. Obviously, people have different opinions and views on certain matters. So to clarify, something is offensive when someone is offended, even if the offender doesn't think it is.
The least we can do then is to ask of him to stop bothering the person in question. Moving on from what's generally offensive, to insulting. We ask you not to insult people in a offensive manner based on race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, disability status, age, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability or any other status that might really offend a person.
Because Battlefield Vietnam is now largely a huge community based game, it strives off of unity and depends upon every single player to keep the game alive. As such, we allow and encourage other Clans to recruit players in order to grow the community. Ramming vehicles in-game is allowed though other players may not be so happy about it.
A simple rule, which is hardly ever a problem - but is still important enough to make it into the server rules. We'll only take action with this rule if the player really is disrupting the chat system for others either with their chat or the in-game radio commands.
We are not overly strict about what names you choose for yourself in-game. I mean, it's what defines you and allows others to recognize you when they see you. There are a few no-no's when it comes to names on our server though. We ask that you do not use a default name i.e. Player. If other new players are using this name, (which we try stop) and they end up breaking the rules thus admin action is taken against them, you might be targeted instead out of confusion because of the same name. We ask that you keep your name original, but it must not be a name that will come off as derogatory or offending. It must not target any other players in a derogatory way either i.e. mock names.
The ability to team-switch is a great thing to have in game. However, it can be used malevolently. It can also indirectly cause unescessary frustration to other players who are trying to stay on their own team but are thrown back and forth due to other players switching in an excessive manner. If you are auto switched, please try stay on the team you are sent to, we'd like to keep the team's as balanced as possible.
Hacking is severely frowned upon. If you are caught, you will be banned for life with no chance of appeal. If you are found glitching through buildings you will be admin killed & warned, this is not hacking but it is not tolerated. Exploiting any glitch which exists in the game that gives a player an advantage over other players will be met with admin action in the form of a kill and warning to stop.
In order to promote a fun environment we don't allow air units to attack the opposing team's main base unless the opposing team has no other flags. (neutral flags don't count as a team's flag). The specifics for each map are as follows:
Operation Flaming Dart - The rule doesn't apply here as the flags have no effect on mains for either side.
Fall of Lang Vei - If the team has more than 1 flag main rape is prohibited. (Both the huey slick and mi-8 cargo are exempt)
Hue 1968- No helis/planes so the rule does not apply.
Ho chi minh trail - No helis/planes so the rule does not apply.
Saigon 68 - If the team has another above ground flag main rape may not take place. (Village/Bridge House/ Palace)(The Huey slick is exempt)
Quang tri 1968 - No helis/planes so the rule does not apply.
Fall of Saigon - Main rape is allowed as the plane is not much of a threat.
Reclaiming Hue - No helis/planes so the rule does not apply.
Defence of Con Thien - If the team has more than 1 flag main rape is prohibited.

Operation Cedar Falls - If the team has another above ground flag main rape may not take place. (All flags except the tunnel HQ and radio room)(The huey slick is exempt)(NVA doesn't have a main)

If it is believed that you are breaking the rules you will be kicked, should you return shortly thereafter and repeat your rule breaking, you will then be banned. If you are banned, you'll find your ban topic on our Ban List. Bans, regardless of length, will be found in the Ban List forum within a few hours of them being placed. If you feel your ban was wrong then you can Appeal It. In the unfortunate event that no admins are online when rulebreaking takes place you can report it here. You can report an admin, if needed, in our confidential Report An Admin forum section. If you want a rough guideline of what can be expected from certain infractions, please checkout Admin Courses Of Action.
