4GB RAM Patch

4GB RAM Patch N/A

This is a simple patch that allows Battlefield Vietnam to use up to 4gb RAM instead of the restricted 2gb.

Once downloaded, you will need to extract it using WinRAR or 7zip, then you need to simply run the 4gb_patch.exe file and it will auto run. You experience a notable different in map loading times.

Please note:
This patch will only work if you actually have more than 2gb of RAM installed. It would perform best as well if you are using a 64bit Windows installation. However it's not a pre-requisite.

If you encounter errors and wish to uninstall it, please re-download the Battlefield Vietnam no-cd patch and follow the steps for it.

I have similar experience as Daddy0. Ever since I installed this patch, I didn't notice much difference in loading by my game has become very jittery when I play on Easy Prey Death server (maybe because some maps have many aircraft, vehicles, and bots at the same time). I didn't have this problem on this server's maps before installing the patch. All vehicles seem to be skipping a few frames all the time. It is extremely hard to shoot at them. None of the other players there have this problem, possibly because they didn't install this patch. Fortunately my BFV works fine on HELLO and other servers. There is no way to undo this patch. Installing the no-cd patch didn't help (Ice). I'm trying to re-install the original BFV exe and then the no-cd patch. I will let you know if this works. If it doesn't then I will have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game and all it's mods.
Hmm. Thank you for letting me know. Odd though, as the no-cd patch replacing the existing files should sort it. I might pull this resource to prevent further issues.
Warning to others. After applying the patch, my game has become very jittery. Now I don't have an easy way to remove it because I failed to back up the EXE before patching. It does seem to load faster, but it was not worth it for the possible reduction in game play quality. I may need to reinstall to correct the issue if what I am experiencing is caused by the 4G patch.
Hey DaddyO,

Have you tried simply re-downloading the no-cd patch and copying it over? It should do the trick.
